Virtual & Flexible Therapy
Therapy is already asking you to make space for something important. Getting there shouldn't have to become another obstacle.
Ascension Point Behavioral Health offers virtual therapy throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey, allowing you to connect from a private space where you feel comfortable.
But flexibility means more to us than simply putting therapy on a screen.
It means creating therapy that can adapt to the person actually showing up.
Online therapy for children, teens, and adults throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
What are the benefits of virtual therapy?
Therapy From Your Space
Virtual therapy lets you meet from an environment that already belongs to you. Your bedroom. Your office. Your favorite chair. A quiet corner with a blanket and your dog determined to become a co-therapist.
For some people, being in their own environment makes vulnerable conversations a little easier. You can have your comfort items nearby. You can use your own sensory supports. You don't have to navigate a waiting room, commute home after an emotional session, or spend twenty minutes trying to remember where you parked.
When the session ends, you're already home.
You Don't Have to Perform
You don't need to sit perfectly still. You don't need to maintain eye contact with the camera. You don't need to know exactly how you're feeling the moment I ask. You don't have to apologize because your pet interrupted us. You don't need an aesthetically perfect therapy setup. And you definitely don't need to convince me that you're doing therapy "correctly."
We can figure out what makes the space work for you.
Virtual Doesn't Have to Mean Disconnected
One of the biggest concerns people have about telehealth is whether therapy can still feel personal through a screen. It can.
A strong therapeutic relationship isn't created by two people occupying the same room. It's built through trust, consistency, curiosity, collaboration, humor, vulnerability, and feeling genuinely understood. Virtual sessions can still include conversation, skill-building, creative interventions, games, shared visuals, mindfulness, worksheets, storytelling, and other interactive approaches.
The screen is simply where we meet. The therapy happens between us.
Play & Creative Therapy
Virtual therapy doesn't have to be limited to conversation. We can incorporate games, art, storytelling, shared visuals, metaphor, movement, objects from your environment, and other interactive activities into online sessions.
Sometimes being at home actually gives us more to work with because the things that matter to you are already there.
Where Can I Receive Virtual Therapy?
Because therapy licenses are regulated by state, your physical location during the appointment matters.
Carson Eckard, LPC, NCC is licensed to provide professional counseling to eligible clients located in Pennsylvania and New Jersey
You do not necessarily need to live in either state permanently, but you generally need to be physically located in a state where your therapist is authorized to practice at the time of your session.
If you're unsure whether we can work together, reach out and we'll help determine whether you're eligible for services.
Frequently Asked Questions
What Can We Work On Virtually?
Virtual therapy can support many of the same concerns we would address in a traditional therapy office, including:
Anxiety and overwhelming thoughts
Depression and motivation
Trauma and difficult past experiences
LGBTQ+ identity and minority stress
Gender identity and exploration
ADHD, autism, masking, and neurodivergence
Relationships and boundaries
Life transitions
Self-esteem and identity development
Stress, burnout, and emotional regulation
Building coping skills
Finding direction, meaning, and connection
Your goals don't have to fit neatly into a diagnostic box. Sometimes therapy starts because you know exactly what's wrong. Sometimes it starts because something just isn't working anymore.
Meet Carson
I'm Carson Eckard, LPC, NCC, a queer and transgender therapist who works with teens and adults navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, identity, neurodivergence, relationships, and life transitions.
My approach blends traditional counseling with play, creativity, humor, metaphor, mindfulness, CBT, DBT-informed skills, trauma-informed care, and other approaches depending on the person sitting across from me.
I don't believe meaningful therapy has to look serious every second in order to do serious work. Sometimes growth happens through a hard conversation. Sometimes it happens while we're laughing over a terrible card draw. Both count.

Therapy can look different here.
You have a life outside of therapy.
Work. School. Relationships. Responsibilities. Bad days. Busy weeks. Pets walking across the keyboard. Therapy should fit alongside all of that.
