Carson Eckard, M.S., LPC, NCC, Owner
Carson (he/him) is a Licensed Professional Counselor and is the owner and clinician for Ascension Point Behavioral Health. He holds an M.S. in Community and Trauma Counseling, with specializations in Childhood Trauma and Play Therapy from Thomas Jefferson University (2021).
As a queer and transgender man, Carson understands what it feels like to move through the world searching for belonging, safety, and spaces that honor the whole person. In addition to Asencion Point, he is the founder and director of Progress Peak Adventures, a non-profit dedicated to providing activities that build resilience, celebrate identities, and facilitate the thriving of folks who are LGBTQ+, BIPOC, Disabled, or any person navigating systemic barriers.
Since graduating in 2021, Carson has four years of mental health experience with young people and adults with a wide range of needs, challenges, and experiences. Carson's approach is warm, flexible, and collaborative. He blends tenets of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Family Systems Therapy, and expressive therapies, including play and art therapies, to support his clients in moving beyond survival mode into lives that feel more peaceful, joyful, and easier to navigate.
Carson's ideal client is a Pennsylvania resident who may feel overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, and past trauma, and is looking for a safe, affirming space to understand their experiences. They may be questioning their identity, navigating transition, or struggling to feel grounded, especially if they are LGBTQ+, neurodivergent, or facing systemic barriers. They want to be accepted exactly as they are while gaining insight and learning practical tools to manage stress, build resilience, and heal.
Your story is a journey full of challenges, meaning, and possibility. Carson is committed to walking alongside you as you navigate, supporting you while you build confidence, connection, and a sense of home within yourself.
