Is Carson licensed?
Yes! Carson is a fully licensed professional counselor in the state of Pennsylvania and is working on licensure for nearby states.
What ages does Ascension Point Serve?
We offer virtual counseling to any age. Anyone under the age of 16 needs parental consent!
How much will therapy cost?
A session costs $125 and is approximately 45 minutes. Many folks will end up paying less on a sliding scale, based on income.
Does Ascension Point offer WPATH Letters of Support for Gender-Affirming Care?
Yes, we offer assessments for gender-affirminig letters using the WPATH Standards of Care Guidelines. Assessment for these letters usually takes 2 sessions at our regular rate, and a $75-200 fee for the letter, depending on income. Rarely, at the discretion of the therapist, it may take more than 2 sessions for the clinician to feel adequately prepared to write your letter.
Do you only work with LGBTQ+ Individuals?
No! Carson works with people of various identities! As a queer and transgender therapist, he often sees clients who align with his identities, but he has expertise in working with a variety of folks!
Do you take insurance?
We are working on becoming credentialed with different insurance plans, but we are not able to provide services under health insurance quite yet.
Do you have in-person availability?
No, we don't have a physical location yet, but we hope to be able to provide in-person therapy as we grow.
